Monday Musings

It's my second edition of Monday Musings!  This one is a little bit late because I had Jury Duty today!  I didn't get selected for the first jury and get to call in again to see if I have to serve on another case.  I feel like I'm the only person who is disappointed about not getting selected!

Here's our weekend in review:

Friday

On Friday, Daniel and I spent the day in Atlanta.  I have diabetes and have a doctors appointment every 4 months to make sure everything is going well with my health.  I look forward to the appointments because it's a great excuse to go shopping.  We had to be home earlier this time to go check on the house before dinner.  Instead of shopping, we decided to check out the Atlanta Food Truck Park!

The Alpine Crepe:  A magical concoction containing organic spinach, goat cheese, and a balsamic reduction sauce

Daniel's Shrimp Po' Boy
My Shrimp Plate
Amazing fresh fruit popsicles!
I had Fresh Georgia Peach
Daniel had Salted Watermelon
We had some really amazing food and it was a nice, cool day to eat outside!

Saturday

Saturday consisted of some wonderful family time.  We went to the annual family reunion and spent time with two of our 3 nieces!

The first weekend of each August, our family gets together at a sweet little church in the country.

There is always such amazing food, and I learned on this visit that we've been using this picnic table/space since the 20's at least!

After the reunion, we had a movie marathon with our nieces.  It was complete with homemade salted caramel popcorn!

Enjoying the 3D movie!

Laughing it up at Good Burger (it was fun to share some childhood favorites with them)!
I will share this extremely easy recipe soon!

Sunday

Sunday continued the reunion at a house by the lake.  I was too busy chatting with family to snap any pictures.

Once we were home, it was time for some rest and snuggles with my sweet baby dogs.  Lucy and Lola were feeling shy, so they snuggled each other under the bed (they love it because it is like a little nest).

Don't mind the quilt under the bed!
Luna insisted on snuggle time with mommy!

It was a fun weekend and the relaxation time on Sunday afternoon was needed!
